Position Overview:

TACC Construction Ltd. is seeking a full-time, dynamic, and experienced Senior HR Generalist with a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification to support our leadership team. With 7–10 years of progressive HR experience across diverse roles, you will play a key role in our organization. As a valued member of TACC Construction Ltd., a family-owned business, you will manage the full spectrum of HR responsibilities and oversee weekly full-cycle payroll for approximately 350–375 hourly and salaried employees, accounting for seasonal fluctuations. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with HR and payroll best practices, upholding legislative requirements, and fostering a positive, productive work environment. A proactive and confident subject matter expert in HR and people management, you will provide strategic support and guidance to Senior Leadership, Health & Safety, and Ownership teams. Key Responsibilities:

• HR Compliance & Policy Management:
  • Stay abreast of changes in government regulations, compliance, and best practices related to HR, including Human Rights, ESA, Working for Workers, Pay Equity, WSIB, and more.
  • Spearhead the implementation and updating of the annual/biannual review of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Education & Certification:

Job Description:  A water and sewer mainline excavator required to work with ground personnel in the excavation of trenches to proper depth/grade, to ensure pipe can be installed at the correct line and grade.  Operator needs to be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole sections, etc., and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.

Main Duties:

• Ensure trenches are excavated to the proper depth, grade and side slopes.

Job Description: As a Sewer and Watermain Mainline Topman, you will play a crucial role in assisting the crew in the installation, repair and decommissioning of various sewer and watermain projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the construction team to contribute to the successful completion of various infrastructure projects.

Main Duties:

• Organization:
  • Constantly observe sewer and watermain installation and production in trench and continually prepare all materials required ahead of time to complete the works so that production is not compromised

• Conducting elevation shots, reading grade, shooting the line and ensuring pipe is being properly placed in the ground
• Providing continuous inspections of pipes for cracks, problems with gaskets and any other deficiencies prior to lowering into the trench
• Responsible for cutting and preparing pipes and fittings for installation
• Assisting Pipelayer with installation as needed, locating utilities, and other duties as assigned by the Foreman
• Safely securing all loads by properly rigging pipes, manholes and other materials and equipment for crane/backhoe before being lowered into or removed from the trench

• Team Collaboration:

Job Description:  As a Sewer and Watermain Mainline Pipe Layer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, repair, and decommissioning of sewer and watermain systems. You will be responsible for laying, aligning, and sealing pipes, ensuring that they meet project specifications and quality standards.

 Main Duties:

• Working in conjunction with excavator operator to ensure subgrade elevation and slope is acceptable to receive bedding stone prior to pipe installation
• Grade the bedding stone correctly to make certain sewer pipes will be installed precisely
• Aligning pipes and checking grades during pipeline construction using pipe laser to confirm the pipe has been installed accurately
• Installing manholes, chambers, box culverts, shafts, and all related appurtenances

• Reporting directly to the Foreman and will be responsible for the installation of sewer and watermain, including concrete structures for both reconstruction and new construction projects

Job Description:  As a Sewer and Watermain Mainline Pipe Layer Helper, you will play a crucial role in assisting the pipelayer to install, repair, and decommission sewer and watermain systems. You will be responsible for assisting the pipelayer in the laying, aligning, and sealing of pipes, ensuring that they meet project specifications and quality standards.

 Main Duties:

• Working in conjunction with excavator operator to ensure subgrade elevation and slope is acceptable to receive bedding stone prior to pipe installation
• Assist in grading the bedding stone correctly to make certain sewer pipes will be installed precisely
• Assist in aligning pipes and checking grades during pipeline construction using pipe laser to confirm the pipe has been installed accurately
• Assist in installing manholes, chambers, box culverts, shafts, and all related appurtenances
• Use hand tools such as jumping jacks, plate tampers, pumps, etc. whenever necessary
• Perform all other construction laboring duties when required
• Reporting directly to the Pipelayer, Topman, and Foreman and responsible for the installation of sewer and watermain, including concrete structures for both reconstruction and new construction projects

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a sewer and watermain crew
• Demonstrate organizational skills with strong knowledge and expertise
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
• Good health and physical condition
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Works well independently and collaboratively on small or large-scale projects
• Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy
• Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, and reach
• Punctual and available to work a minimum of 10 hours per day, 5 days per week
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license
• In-depth knowledge and practice of OHSA safety standards and precautions
• Minimum of 2 years of experience is required in sewer and watermain projects
• Safety training certificates such as First Aid/CPR, WHMIS 2015, Working at Heights, etc.
• Be able to travel to various sites and work in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions
• Be able to work weekends and evenings as occasionally required

Job Description: The Sewer and Watermain Mainline Laborer performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties required to operate, maintain and repair the facilities of the water distribution and wastewater collection system.

Main Duties:

• Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, hydrants and gate valves
• Dig ditches and holes
• Make minor repairs to equipment, machines and attachments
• Perform related tasks as required
• Works under the direction of the pipelayer and pipelayer helper or other designated supervisors
• Performs responsible functions within a complex and technical environment involving the exercise of considerable judgment in the field
• Assist operators in all typical day-to-day duties

Qualifications:

• Local 183 member in good standing
• Valid DZ license is an asset

Job Description:  A crane operator’s job is to safely lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment using specialized machinery. They also perform pre-operational inspections, calculate crane capacities, and ensure compliance with safety laws and guidelines.

Main Duties:

• Operating crawler crane to precisely lift, move, position or place equipment and materials in a trench for a sewer and watermain crew.  Lifts include, but are not limited to, sewer and watermain pipes, manhole sections, chambers, stone hoppers, trench boxes, etc.
• Listening and carrying out instructions given from ground crew.
• Performing pre-operational inspection and calculating crane capacities using known weights to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Inspecting machinery and equipment to make sure they function properly.
• Following safety guidelines and protocols, including keeping an up to date logbook
• Reviewing a daily schedule to ensure production can be met without compromising safety.
• Identifying defective parts on malfunctioning cranes and following proper safety guidelines and procedures, reporting any potentially unsafe practices.

Qualifications:

• MUST have a Trade certification 339A License
• A valid driver’s G license, own a vehicle, and willing to commute to and from different work site locations
• In-depth knowledge and practice of OHSA safety standards and precautions
• Good health and physical condition
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Works well independently and collaboratively on small or large-scale projects

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the CFO and senior management, the Assistant Comptroller will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic planning through data-driven insights. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting acumen and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Comptroller will support or lead the following functions:

• Oversee and manage the company’s accounting systems and general ledger
• Supervise month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accounting ledgers for multiple residential and marketing projects (A/P, A/R, HST, WSIB, EHT, and Payroll)
• Review and ensure timely submission of payroll remittances and maintain accurate employee records
• Review HST, EHT, and WSIB remittances across all entities
• Manage and approve cheque runs and monthly bank reconciliations
• Handle journal entry processes and financial statement preparation
• Analyze financial data related to active lines of credit, corporate debt, and cash flow
• Collaborate with external CPA firms for corporate year-end filings
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
• Prepare year-end documents and ensure proper financial reporting
• Resolve invoicing disputes, ensuring alignment between clients and internal departments
• Monitor project costs and prepare job cost reports for management

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks (minimum 3 years)
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
