Position:  Assistant Construction Site Supervisor
Location:  Toronto, GTA

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Construction Site Supervisor to join our team and grow under the mentorship of an experienced Site Supervisor in the Heavy Civil construction industry. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their career with an industry-leading construction company.

Main Duties:

• Support the Site Supervisor in managing daily operations and coordinating resources.
• Assist in overseeing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor construction progress and report on daily activities.
• Help enforce safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment.
• Assist with documenting project details, preparing reports, and attending meetings.
• Learn and apply construction management principles under guidance.

Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience in construction or related field preferred.

• Post secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field is a plus.

Position:  Water and Sewer Labourer
Location:  Toronto, GTA
Employment Type:  Full-time

Job Description: The Water and Sewer Laborer performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties required to operate, maintain and repair the facilities of the water distribution and wastewater collection system.

Main Duties:

• Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, hydrants and gate valves
• Dig ditches and holes
• Make minor repairs to equipment, machines and attachments
• Perform related tasks as required
• Works under the direction of the pipelayer and pipelayer helper or other designated supervisors
• Performs responsible functions within a complex and technical environment involving the exercise of considerable judgment in the field
• Assist operators in all typical day-to-day duties

Qualifications:

• Local 183 member in good standing
• Valid DZ license is an asset
• Must display consistency in being punctual, responsible, and dependable
• Must support a safe work culture including the incorporation of safe work practices in daily work
• Must be physically fit and able to work effectively with others
• Must be able to work independently without regular supervision in safety sensitive environments
• Must be comfortable working in outdoor environments for extended periods of time as well as working in and with sanitary systems
• Is required to display the mechanical aptitude and the physical capabilities to work with sanitary system equipment as well as comfortable working with hand and power tools safely
• Must display strong communication skills including being capable of carrying out both verbal and written instruction as well as be able to produce and maintain accurate and legible written records
• Must be comfortable working within confined and restricted spaces in both water and wastewater environments. Confined space entries may require the use of supplied air equipment.

Position: Data Entry Clerk
Location: Toronto, GTA

Job Description: A Data Entry Clerk is someone who enters information from paper documents into computer systems, such as spreadsheets or databases. They may also perform other office tasks, such as filing, answering phones, and writing and sending mail.

Main Duties:

• Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
• Type in data provided directly from customers
  Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Update existing data
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• At least 1 year relevant experience as data entry clerk
• Fast typing skills – knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of databases

Position Overview:

TACC Construction Ltd. is seeking a full-time, dynamic, and experienced Senior HR Generalist with a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification to support our leadership team. With 7–10 years of progressive HR experience across diverse roles, you will play a key role in our organization. As a valued member of TACC Construction Ltd., a family-owned business, you will manage the full spectrum of HR responsibilities and oversee weekly full-cycle payroll for approximately 350–375 hourly and salaried employees, accounting for seasonal fluctuations. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with HR and payroll best practices, upholding legislative requirements, and fostering a positive, productive work environment. A proactive and confident subject matter expert in HR and people management, you will provide strategic support and guidance to Senior Leadership, Health & Safety, and Ownership teams. This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. A hybrid work arrangement is not available at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

• HR Compliance & Policy Management:
  • Stay abreast of changes in government regulations, compliance, and best practices related to HR, including Human Rights, ESA, Working for Workers, Pay Equity, WSIB, and more.
  • Spearhead the implementation and updating of the annual/biannual review of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Advise Senior management on the impact of legislative changes and develop proactive solutions.
• Employee Relations & Consultation:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for salaried employee queries and concerns, along with Union members payroll issues, resolving issues in a timely, empathetic, and professional manner.
  • Coach and consult with the Health & Safety Manager and Executive Team on HR matters, ensuring the best practices are followed.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, and foster a healthy, productive work environment.
• Payroll & Benefits Management:
  • Oversee the full cycle, weekly payroll ( using Jonas) for salaried and unionized employees (approximately 350-400 employees seasonally adjusted).
  • Manage salaried employee benefits program, including RSP match program and ensuring timely, accurate contributions.
  • Ensure all union reporting is completed accurately, and all monthly government and benefits remittances are submitted on time.
  • Stay abreast of changes in government taxes, compliance, and best practices.
• Onboarding & Training:
  • Oversee onboarding processes to ensure that new salaried hires are seamlessly integrated into the company culture.
  • Collaborate with management on ongoing employee development, engagement, performance reviews, and compliance training.
• HR Administration & Data Management:
  • Maintain HR records in compliance with privacy laws and corporate policies.
  • Ensure that all administrative tasks, such as documentation and reporting, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Use advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products to generate reports, track metrics, and support HR decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Education & Certification:
  • HR Certification or related experience (7-10 years in progressively responsible HR roles).
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification REQUIRED at a minimum .
• Experience & Knowledge:
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with HR best practices, compliance issues, and hands on weekly payroll management.
  • In-depth understanding of HR regulations, including Human Rights, ESA, Working for Workers, Pay Equity, WSIB, and other relevant legislation.
  • Proven track record of building strong partnerships and providing guidance across a diverse, unionized and Salaried workforce.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to quickly create ad hoc data reports requested by any member of the executive team for budgets or workforce analysis.
  • Proven experience in onboarding, employee relations, coaching and counselling, and performance management.
  • Ability to pivot and adjust priorities based on shifting needs and urgent requests from ownership or senior leadership
  • Be able to quickly offer solid HR solutions as situations arise.
